Just look around – acts of kindness are everywhere!

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past years, it has grown into a world-wide movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

The news may be bombarding us with constant statistics related to the COVID-19 pandemic, politics, and holiday shopping statistics and trends, but if we look around, we can find inspirational stories of people going above and beyond to lend a hand to neighbors, friends, relatives, and those in need. There is a sense of care and encouragement all around to stay safe, healthy, happy, and loved.

At the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, we are doing everything we can to keep our kids and staff safe and be a resource to our community. Social distancing, masks, and disinfecting are the new normal. As schools opened this fall, we increased our outreach by adding two new Club sites, allowing us to serve hundreds of kids every day. We are also an e-learning site for Fort Wayne Community Schools so kids don’t have to be at home alone while they are attending school virtually.

Our challenges continue as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise and community needs continue to grow. Our world is changing, but our mission remains the same: to serve our most vulnerable youth and provide a pathway for great futures. Your help matters!
