Take a Look at our NEW Brookmill Club Site
This club is all about FAMILY…helping one another, close parent and club relationships, and building community together. The enthusiasm, authenticity and impact are real. Thanks to our partnership with Fort Wayne Housing Authority, the Brookmill club opened its doors on August 13 to those living in the Brookmill Apartments and is serving children and teens ages 6–16.
Club member Laylah says, “The club is so fun! I love the staff and can talk to them about anything.”
They are off to a great start! Our junior staff mentoring program allows the teen members to mentor younger members. The newly formed book club is reading “Dear Martin” by Nic Stone! Kids are also studying poetry and learning about debates. Every Friday is ‘circle time’ in which kids, staff, and parents participate in yoga and positive affirmations.
To celebrate the season of Autumn, staff and kids participated in a Rainbow Color Challenge. Each team was given colored powder to throw at each other. The team wearing the most color lost, although all were winners as they had a blast!
